We all know that Florida is the place of magic and enchantment. In fact, one could easily mistake it from a fairytale place. With its emerald green water, forested landscapes, singing towers and castles, Florida never fails to amaze us with its breathtaking beauty.
This Fairytale Road Trip in Florida is probably one of the most exciting ones you could go on. It takes just over 11 hours of drive-time to complete, but there’s so much to explore that you might stop at every place. Either way, there’s no better word that perfect to describe this weekend adventure.
The first stop on this trip is…
1. Seacrest Wolf Preserve — Chipley
During this stop, you will be able to spend some time with the adorable wolves at Seacrest Wolf Preserve. And don’t be scared of them! They’re just some gentle giants that want to show you how important preserving wildlife in Florida is.
2. Florida Caverns — Marianna
Florida Caverns State Park is definitely a marvelous place. There you can take a tour of the caverns and visit the underground rooms to find out more about the geological history of the landscape. Quite fascinating, isn’t it?
3. Castle Otttis — St. Augustine
A fairytale road trip does need to include visiting a castle, doesn’t it? The third stop of this trip is the castle Otttis in St. Augustine which was built somewhere around the 80s. There you can check out the gigantic stone castle to actually find out how this architectural beauty was built.
4. Ravine Gardens State Park — Palatka
Ravine Gardens State Park is the kind of place we’ve seen numerous times in movies like Bridge to Terabithia. You can roam around this place for hours and never get bored. The tropical garden is simply breathtaking. What’s even cooler, this park was once the ancient ravines! Can you believe that?!
5. Cypress Gardens — Winter Haven
Another majestic garden is the area is Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. Looking straight out a fairytale, this garden is one of the most spectacular ones you’ve ever laid your eyes on. It has been around since the 1930s and you can now visit it whenever!
6. Bok Tower Gardens — Lake Wales
Another stop of this road trip is the Bok Tower. Situated in the fascinating 250-acre garden, the 205-foot tall Singing Towner gives a unique experience with its ringing bells daily.
7. Weeki Wachee Springs — Spring Hill
We don’t think that words are necessary to describe the Weeki Wachee Springs. You can see from the picture yourself that the view is absolutely spectacular there. What’s even more spectacular is the the live mermaid show that takes place there. You really don’t want to miss that spectacular show!
